Cistercian Route, World Heritage Site
From Tarragona, you can visit the Cistercian Route, the Monasteries of Poblet, Santes Creus and Vallbona de les Monges, a monumental architectural, historical and cultural ensemble of the greatest interest to understand medieval Catalonia and all its splendor.
The monastery of Poblet, where several kings rest, declared in 1991 a World Heritage Site, still conserves its monastic activity, like that of Vallbona de les Monges.
The Monastery of Santa María de Poblet is located in the region of La Conca de Barberà, between the towns of Vimbodí, the municipality to which it belongs, and L'Espluga de Francolí.
The Monastery of Santes Creus is a Cistercian Abbey erected from the 12th century, which is located in the municipality of Aiguamurcia, in the village of Santes Creus.
Finally, the Monastery of Vallbona de les Monges is a female Cistercian Abbey, located in the Catalan region of El Urgell in the municipality of Vallbona de les Monges, in the province of Lleida.

Delta of the Ebro
Located 73 km from Tarragona, the Delta del Ebro is a Natural Park located at the mouth of the river of the same name, of more than 7,000 hectares, forming part of the Biosphere Reserve of Tierras del Ebro.
It is the largest wet area in Catalonia.
The main crop in the area is rice.
It houses more than 360 species of birds, of which 95 of them nest in this area.
